Pencil sketch on copier paper. Drawn in 1992.
I was totally obsessed with the Dragonball manga during this period. As you can see from the three drawings above, I will senselessly copy various Dragonball characters from the manga and try to populate every single millimetre on the paper I am drawing on.

Ink on A4 copier paper with colour pencil and felt markers. Drawn in 1992.
I was very inspired by Stan Lee’s Marvel universe of super heroes and super villains in primary six. The outcome was this “Adrian + Alvin Universe” thing where my then-best-friend, Adrian Aw and I conceptualised (and sometime blatantly plagarised) “original” characters of [...]

Pencil sketch on A4 copier paper with calligraphy pen lettering. Drawn in 1992.
If I didn’t remember wrongly, this was copied from the first issue of Venom, drawn by Eric Larsen. I am used to a muscular Venom, not the scrawny version seen in the Spiderman 3 movie.

Drawn in 1992. Ballpoint pen on exercise book paper.
This was probably drawn in the middle of classes while the teachers were not looking. Nothing much to comment about this, except that I like the texture of ballpoint pen ink. It gives an interesting cross between the rough, light stroke of a pencil and [...]

Drawn in 1992, Felt marker on exercise book paper.
Similar to the previous post, this fanart is incomplete as I had problem trying to colour the illustration with felt marker as the excessive ink will smudge and tear the thin exercise book paper. It didn’t help when I tried using colour pencil either. The lesson learnt [...]

Drawn in 1992, Felt marker on exercise book paper.
This fanart is incomplete as I had problem trying to colour the illustration with felt marker as the excessive ink will smudge and tear the thin exercise book paper. This was taken from an important scene in Dragonball Z depicting Trunks‘ debut, leading to the “Cell Game” [...]

Drawn in 1992. Ink on copier paper.
Fanart of the hit Spiderman comic book series – Revenge of the Sinister Six. I love Spiderman comics back then and I am still a big fan now. There’s the additional human touch in Spiderman/Peter Parker, largely absence in most other American superheroes with execessive male hormones [...]
